Win Streak Reaches Two Games, Team Earns Parade

PHILADELPHIA -- After years of suffering, a Phillies fan starved for excitement plans on celebrating his team's recent winning streak with a lunchtime parade down Broad Street. "We're back to .500!" screeched the fan, fighting back tears. "As Phillies fans, these are the moments we must cherish."

The parade will begin at City Hall and travel south to Chestnut Street, according to the fan. "I'm not in very good shape, so I don't want to overdo it," he said. "It's kind of hot out today."

After the parade, the fan plans on stopping into Tower Records to browse their dvds, then he'll enjoy a chicken sandwich at Wendy's. Unfortunately, he said, he's then got to go back to work. "Honestly, I thought the mayor would declare today a city-wide holiday," he said. "Two wins in two days should not go unnoticed."

Those planning to drive during the lunchtime rush are urged to avoid the City Hall area during the parade. "Stay outta my way," said the fan, now drunk. "This issa gonna be the best parade this city, or any city, hassss ever seen. 3-3, baby! Everybody hits - woohoo!"

Wade, weren't Philadelphia cabbies planning to drive around City Hall from 12-3 today? Will this protest impact the Phillies' parade?
